It’s no secret that collecting upon a judgment can be challenging, but like many other industries, the collections industry has also benefitted from technological advancements.

The collections department at Andalman and Flynn stays current on the latest technology to get you the money you are owed.

Improvements in communication technology have allowed our firm to contact large numbers of debtors in a fraction of the time it used to take us. This allows us to recover funds more effectively and for our collectors always to be engaged with a debtor securing payment. If a debtor is not currently able to talk when we call, technological advances have allowed debtors to respond to our call at a convenient time.

Additionally, our firm has secured the ability for debtors to make online payments, allowing the debtors to submit payments without having to wait on the phone to speak with someone and our collectors can then be on the phone with debtors who have not yet established payment arrangements.

In conjunction with the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act, firms can communicate with debtors over the phone, through emails, or text messages. This has allowed us to reach debtors more quickly as debtors often can’t talk with us during regular business hours as they are working and instead can contact us anytime. These advances in technology and the law have established a better relationship with debtors as they are more appreciative of the various methods and times they have to communicate with us instead of trying only to have phone communications. Allowing a debtor to make online payments and to communicate with us in non-traditional forms has allowed our firm to be efficient and collect more money for our clients.

In addition to these advancements, we have learned that debtors are more likely to submit payment if given more opportunities.  Having an online payment portal that allows a debtor to submit payment without speaking with anyone has shown to be highly successful. We all know that a debtor owes money. Still, recent studies have shown if a person can enter into a reasonable payment plan to pay off the debt, they are ten times more likely to make all payments than if they are forced to make payments that don’t account for their current financial hardships.

Lastly, technological advancements have allowed our firm to share documents and exchange information using secure platforms to protect debtors’ privacy and HIPPA rights. All collection firms must protect the privacy people have when collecting medical debts.

If you have account receivable balances and have yet to be successful in collecting, please call me at 301-563-6685 for a free consultation so that we can begin working to collect the money owed to you.
